Las Culturistas Is Coming to Disney+ and Hulu on November 18
At a glance
- Who: iHeartMedia, Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network, Disney+ and Hulu
- What: Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang streams as a weekly video podcast
- When: Starts November 18
- Also: Desperately Devoted gets its first video episodes on Disney+ and Hulu November 2
Big one. Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, a two-time Podcast of the Year winner, is heading to Disney+ and Hulu.
Disney's podcast shelf started with companion shows for its own series, then got a batch of iHeart fandom podcasts, and now it's adding one of the best known comedy podcasts around. That feels like a statement (and honestly, a smart one). Matt and Bowen have a built-in audience that already likes to watch them talk, so let's get into it.
What iHeartMedia Announced
Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang will stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting November 18, with new video episodes every week. The show is executive produced by Will Ferrell and iHeartMedia, and distributed by iHeartPodcasts through Ferrell's Big Money Players Network.
Audio isn't going anywhere. Listeners can still find the podcast on the iHeartRadio app and wherever podcasts are available.
The release also says Desperately Devoted will stream with video for the first time starting November 2.
On Great Pods, the show holds a 4.8/5 critic score, with a 5/5 from Emma Dibdin at The New York Times and a 4.5/5 from Jake Mauriello at Study Breaks.
What Is Las Culturistas?
Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang launched the show in March 2016. It's built on pop culture takes and long conversations with big names, plus recurring segments like "I Don't Think So, Honey." Past guests include Mariah Carey, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon, Ariana Grande, Chappell Roan and Nicole Kidman.
The awards list is long:
- Podcast of the Year at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards in 2023 and 2025
- Comedy podcast wins from the GLAAD Media Awards and the Ambies
- A spot on TIME's list of the 100 best podcasts of all time, per the release
- The Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the 2026 GLAAD Media Awards, which Rogers and Yang received together
iHeartMedia and Big Money Players renewed the partnership in March 2026, according to iHeartMedia's announcement, around the show's 10 year anniversary.
Where This Fits in the Streaming Podcast Race
Disney isn't new to this. Disney+ and Hulu introduced companion video podcasts for their own shows in September 2025, per ABC7. In August, they announced a deal with iHeartMedia for six video podcasts, and EMARKETER reported the services already offered around 30 podcasts at that point.
The iHeart lineup includes Hey Jonas!, Pod Meets World, Fake Doctors, Real Friends, StraightioLab and Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim, with Desperately Devoted getting video November 2 and Las Culturistas following November 18.
Other streamers are moving too. EMARKETER noted that Netflix has streamed iHeart's The Breakfast Club on weekdays since June, and that HBO Max offers companion and rewatch podcasts for its originals.
One open question: the release doesn't say whether the Disney+ and Hulu video is exclusive or whether it will also stay on other video platforms. That's the detail to watch.
Who Is Behind It
- Matt Rogers: actor, comedian, writer and co-host, known for I Love That For You and Fire Island
- Bowen Yang: five-time Emmy nominated comedian and actor (SNL), and co-host
- Will Ferrell: co-founder of Big Money Players Network with iHeartMedia, and executive producer
- Big Money Players Network: also home to The Ron Burgundy Podcast, Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim, Hollywood Handbook and StraightioLab
Final Thoughts
Disney's podcast strategy is getting clearer. Start with companions, add fandom shows, then bring in a heavyweight with a loyal audience. I'll be curious to see how weekly video episodes perform when Las Culturistas lands on November 18.
And it's not only iHeartMedia. A different company, PAVE Studios, announced its own Disney+ and Hulu deal the same day. Its true crime brand Crime House is bringing Clues with Kaelyn Moore on October 20 and the new Mother Knows Murder with Niecy and Dia Nash on November 9, each a day ahead of other podcast platforms, per PAVE's announcement. Two separate companies, same streamers, same week. That's a pattern.
