Disney+ and Hulu Are Getting Video Podcasts From PAVE Studios

PAVE Studios’ Crime House will stream Clues with Kaelyn Moore and Mother Knows Murder with Niecy Nash on Disney+ and Hulu, a day before podcast apps.

At a glance

  • Who: PAVE Studios (Crime House), Disney+ and Hulu
  • What: Two true crime video podcasts get an early streaming window
  • When: Clues starts October 20, Mother Knows Murder premieres November 9
  • Catch: Streaming gets each episode one day before other podcast platforms

Disney+ and Hulu are getting more video podcasts, and honestly, they’re not first to this party.

Netflix has been stacking podcast deals since last fall, Tubi signed Audiochuck (the home of Crime Junkie), and Disney already had a podcast hub on Hulu. So why does this one matter? Because it’s PAVE Studios, an independent podcast company, landing true crime on a Disney streamer with a head start window. That’s the model to watch (and yes, true crime is leading the way, again).

What PAVE Announced

Two Crime House originals will stream exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu first, then hit other platforms a day later. It’s PAVE’s first video podcast distribution on a major streamer, per the company’s announcement.

Clues with Kaelyn Moore starts October 20 with weekly episodes. It’s a 2026 Webby winner covering notorious crimes and the forensic breakthroughs that cracked them.

Mother Knows Murder premieres November 9. Niecy Nash (Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Rookie: Feds, Claws) hosts with her daughter, actress Dia Nash.

Where This Fits in the Streaming Podcast Race

Disney isn’t starting from zero. In August, Disney+ and Hulu announced a deal with iHeartMedia to add six video podcasts, according to ABC7 and OnTheRedCarpet, on top of an existing lineup of licensed, rewatch, and companion podcasts. The PAVE deal is a different kind of play, with original shows from an independent studio instead of a big network’s catalog.

Elsewhere, Netflix signed a deal with Spotify and The Ringer in October 2025, per Axios, and followed with exclusive video rights to more than a dozen iHeartPodcasts shows, TechCrunch reported. Tubi has deals with Audiochuck and SiriusXM, according to Edison Research.

The audience is still building though. Edison’s Q1 2026 data shows 14% of weekly podcast consumers have used Netflix for podcasts and 4% Tubi, compared with 64% for YouTube and 42% for Spotify. Streamers have the money. YouTube still has the viewers.

What They’re Saying

Cutler pitched Crime House as a brand built to travel, with PAVE as a content partner for streamers hunting premium creator shows. Moore said Clues was designed with a streaming audience in mind from the start.

Final Thoughts

The one-day head start is small, but it’s the part to watch. If streamers keep paying for early access and podcast companies keep the rest, that’s a very different business than a few years ago. I’ll be watching how Clues does when it lands on the 20th.
